The 2012 Oscar nominations for Best Picture give us lots of options

This year’s Oscar nominations have been announced and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences gave their nods of approval to those we exactly felt they would tap. That’s a good thing, but there were some surprises too.   The 2012 Oscar nominations for Best Picture are War Horse, The Artist, Moneyball, The Descendants, Tree of Life, Midnight in Paris, The Help, Hugo and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. We will soon see which picture wins the prestigious award!     Only five films were traditionally tapped some years back, but then, the list grew to 10 nominees in the last two years. 2012 Oscar nomination was the first time the Academy used the new system, which allows up to 10 nominees.
