$47 Million Estate in Manhattan now owned by the Prime Minister of Qatar

A $47 million estate in New York City’s island of Manhattan was recently purchased by Sheik Hamad bin Jassim, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar. The property is a gorgeous townhouse at 22 East 71st Street, sold by real estate mogul Aby Rosen. The purchase was quietly handled and there was no broker involved, everything through an LLC, Tower Management Holdings to keep secrecy. The property was first purchased in 2004 by Rosen at the modes price of $15.65 million and was famous for the extravagant parties thrown by the owner, which was never used as a residence. This luxurious townhouse is 45-feet-wide and measures 21,000 square feet, with a stunning grand marble arched entrance and a curved main staircase. It can easily be considered as one of the most expensive homes sold in the United States. Shek Hamad's two wives and children will call this beautiful residence a home when visiting America.
