“Designed To Win”, a Special Shoe for Athletes

Luc Fusaro, a graduate student of the Royal College of Art in London created a shoe that can increase the efficiency of a runner up to 3.5 percent. How? The “Designed To Win”, which is a pair of athlete-specific performance sprint shoes, was designed with 3D technology, which was used to scan the foot and create a custom-made shoe that will be as light as possible. This creation only weights 96 grams and is made of sintered nylon polyamide powder, manufactured with Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). This sprinting shoe was created as part of his master’s degree project, and Fusaro hopes that this development will play a part soon in important sport competitions, such as the upcoming Olympics.
